At last years Harrisburg Barcamp, I attended a presentation on “what to learn next”, it was outstanding. The moderator was exceptional and I hope he can present again.

I had been looking at PHP, Drupal, Ruby, Python and others trying to make that very decision prior to the meeting. Another attendee mentioned that SQL hadn’t changed in
more than 15 years so why not just stay with that?

With more than 10 years of Sybase, SQL Server experience using T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers and more that thought triggered(no pun intended) my thoughts on a direction.
It was just what I needed to decide on the next step of my career.

Making use of my extensive database background and applying that to other technologies was the perfect solution. I am using my DB experience as the base and working with it using PHP and Drupal on my personal website.
